The Toronto Raptors will once again have a few roster spots open that they will need to fill.

Toronto signed Justice Winslow and Mouhamadou Gueye to 10-day contracts and both deals have expired as of Monday night.

As a result, the Raptors’ roster is now back at 13 players. Two players short of the maximum 15 and below the required 14 players that Toronto will need to have at some point within the next couple of weeks.

Winslow and Gueye could very well be re-signed to another 10-day contract which would be the easy fix. Both players have done a great job with Raptors 905 this year and could once again be rewarded for their efforts.

Both players are currently eligible for one more 10-day contract with Toronto before they would have to be signed to a standard contract.

If the Raptors want to get a backup point guard since they are thin there following the trade of Dennis Schroder, they could look at Javon Freeman-Liberty and Markquis Nowell.

They both remain on two-way contracts and could give Toronto a boost at backup point guard.

Nowell has been having a nice season and he recently made the Up Next Game on Feb. 18. The G League version of the All-Star Game. He is the first 905 player to be voted into this game.

Or the Raptors could elect to look outside of their organization and take more experienced players with their vacancies.

It will be interesting to see what the Raptors do with their two open roster spots.

Next up for Raptors

The Raptors will resume action on Feb. 22 against the Brooklyn Nets at Scotiabank Arena.

Schroder will take on the Raptors for the first time since he got traded at the deadline.
