Torrey Craig made his comeback to the Chicago Bulls lineup against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
The veteran suffered a right knee sprain during the All-Star break, sidelining him for the team's last seven games. This was his second substantial absence of the season, following a 22-game layoff for an acute sprain of his right plantar fascia earlier this season.
TC finally came out to play for the Bulls
As he returned to the Bulls’ rotation against the Warriors, TC saw a strict minute restriction under head coach Billy Donovan. The forward played 14 minutes and produced minimally with two assists and one rebound while just taking a single field goal attempt.
While he couldn't hide his frustration regarding his unavailability from the recent games, Torrey is now in good spirits as he found his way to be active again for Chicago.
“I understand that injuries are part of the game, but it just sucks because I pride myself on not missing games, not missing a lot of games, and, in a way, you feel like you’re letting your brothers down, letting your team down by not being available,” Craig said before Chicago’s 125-122 road victory against Golden State. “But I’ve been working hard to get back, and I’m excited I can be out there.”
Fingers crossed that TC will be healthy
The Bulls warmly embrace Craig as he returns to the team, considering that Pat Williams will be out for the rest of the season because of his recent foot surgery. TC has been an important piece for the team throughout this season because of the versatility and defensive is providing on the table.
As they continue to strive for a late-season rally, the Bulls are hoping that Torrey will finally remain healthy along the way.
