Trail Blazers first-round pick Shaedon Sharpe injures shoulder in Summer League debut

After bowing out of any competition during his lone year at the University of Kentucky, former consensus five-star recruit Shaedon Sharpe was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the June NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. His debut with the squad on Thursday didn't go as planned.

Sharpe finished the game with just two points on 1-for-3 shooting to go with one turnover in five minutes and 33 seconds of play. The Trail Blazers fell to the Detroit Pistons, 81-78.

While plenty could change during the remaining months of the offseason, Sharpe is currently slated behind the likes of superstar Damian Lillard, newly extended Anfernee Simons and newly signed Gary Payton II in the backcourt on Portland's depth chart.
