Vince Carter has been inducted to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2024.

The official announcement was made on April 6 at the Final Four.

Carter has already made it clear that when he is officially inducted in August, he will be going into the Hall of Fame as a Raptor via Sportsnet’s Arash Madani:

“There’s no greater honour than to go into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a Raptor.”

Carter had a great tenure with the Raptors. Not only did he make a name for himself as one of the premiere players in the league, but he also put the Toronto on the map.

He led the Raptors to its first playoff appearance in 2000. He then led the Raptors to their first playoff series win in franchise history in 2001.

Carter’s impact in Toronto went beyond the court. He inspired a whole generation of Canadian basketball players. There are 27 Canadian players in the NBA today and it is very likely that the majority of them grew up watching Carter make countless highlights with the Raptors.

The 47-year-old is an eight-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA guard. He spent 22 years in the NBA, including 7 in Toronto.

Carter will forever be remembered as a Raptor.
