Warriors HC Steve Kerr to be named next U.S. Men's National Team coach

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is one of the most accomplished figures in NBA history.

On Friday afternoon, it was reported that he'll soon add another impressive title to his list of achievements and accolades.

Kerr played in the NBA from 1988 through 2003, winning three NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs. Following a three-year run as the general manager of the Phoenix Suns, he joined the Warriors as head coach leading into the 2014-2015 campaign.

In seven-plus seasons at the helm in the Bay Area thus far, the club has appeared in five NBA Finals and captured three titles. Kerr took home the NBA's Coach of the Year Award following the 2015-2016 season.

Friday's news comes on the heels of Tuesday's announcement that the Women's National Team named Minnesota Lynx general manager and head coach Cheryl Reeve as the next head coach.
