Report: Lynx HC Cheryl Reeve named next U.S. National Team coach

Minnesota Lynx general manager and head coach Cheryl Reeve has already garnered four WNBA championships, three WNBA Coach of the Year Awards and one WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year honor. Next, she will showcase her work on the international stage.

Reeve has spent the last two Olympics as an assistant coach, first under UConn women's head coach Geno Auriemma in 2016 and then for the 2020 Games — which took place in 2021 — under University of South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley. The 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place in Paris.

The 55-year-old helped from the bench as the U.S. team took gold with an 8-0 record in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and again with an undefeated 6-0 mark in the Tokyo Olympics this past summer.

Reeve has been the head coach of the Lynx since 2010 and took over as GM in 2017. Since she joined the organization, Minnesota has compiled a 267-127 record, including a 41-21 mark in the postseason.
