Since the Washington Wizards made the trade with the Detroit Pistons most of the attention has been on center Marvin Bagley III.

Rightfully so, as he has been playing good basketball for the Wizards.

But another player that was involved in the trade was guard Isaiah Livers, who has not touched the court in a Washington uniform to date.

And it won't happen at all this year as yesterday the Wizards announced Livers would miss the rest of the regular season with joint capsule inflammation in his right hip.

Before the season ending injury Livers played in 23 games and averaged five points per game on 34.5 percent shooting all with the Pistons.

The guard was an interesting piece in the trade because he was a college teammate of Washington guard Jordan Poole at the University of Michigan.

Livers is a restricted free agent so if he is offered any contract by another NBA team this offseason the Wizards will have an opportunity to match any offer and keep him in Washington.

News of the injury could put a damper on what looked like a great trade for the Wizards when he was acquired along with Bagley for forwards Mike Muscala and Danilo Gallinari but Livers was never a focal point of the trade.

He was more of a low-risk high reward type acquisition for Washington and projects at best a solid 3-and-D player in the NBA, but his shot hasn't come around so far.

The guard should get a chance to show he can play in the league next year and it could still come with the Wizards.
