Derrick Rose recently paid a surprise visit to the home of one of his huge fans in China. And to say the young man was absolutely overjoyed with his encounter with the Minnesota Timberwolves guard would be an understatement.
Rose has been in China for the past week or so as part of a promotional tour for his new Adidas shoe, the D Rose 9. Somehow, Rose found out about his superfan and with a camera crew in tow dropped by the guy’s house.
Watch as the fan loses it over seeing Rose at his door before wrapping the NBA star up with a huge hug.
Rose remains extremely popular in China, joining Kobe Bryant as one of the biggest NBA stars in the basketball-loving country. A tribute video to Rose was created just last year by his many fans in China.
One needn’t look any further than how Rose was greeted by his superfan, as well as the tribute video — not to mention the reception Kobe receives during his many visits to Asia — to illustrate how wildly popular the NBA is in China, especially when it comes to certain players.
