On February 21st, 1998, the NC State Wolfpack traveled to Chapel Hill and took on the number one team in the nation, the North Carolina Tar Heels. NC State was 15-10 but only 4-9 in the ACC, squaring off against a UNC team that was 26-1 and 12-1 in the conference, and the Wolfpack pulled off the 86-72 upset over the Tar Heels. C.C. Harrison scored a career-high 31 points to lead NC State. Ishua Benjamin added 16 points and seven steals. Vince Carter fouled out with just 11 points and four rebounds and Antawn Jamison finished with 20 points and eight rebounds.
