Steve Kerr and his Golden State Warriors saw the upstart Sacramento Kings put up one heck of a fight Thursday night at Oracle Arena.

Led by youngsters Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley, Sacramento actually had a chance to either tie or win the game in its final possession. While that didn’t come to fruition, the Kings proved they can hang with the NBA’s best. After all, they’ve now lost four games to the Warriors by a combined 12 points.

Following Thursday’s game, Kerr was asked about a potential fifth straight trip to the NBA Finals. He certainly wasn’t a fan of the line of questioning following an uneven performance from the two-time defending champs.

In the process, Kerr provided an absolutely brilliant quote — one that harkens back to the days of former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Mora.

You have to love the humor and sarcasm that comes from Mr. Kerr on a near-nightly basis. He’s certainly taken a page from the book of mentor Gregg Popovich.

The good news here is that Golden State doesn’t have to worry about winning a single game. It’s won a whole lot under Kerr. The same thing can’t be said for the NFL’s Colts under Mora.

And without further ado, here’s Mora’s now-legendary quote from years back.
