The Washington Wizards were very active leading up to the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, and some would even say they held a fire sale.

The Wizards traded several key players as part of what looks to be a complete rebuild of their roster. They sent Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis. They also traded big man Montrezl Harrell to the Charlotte Hornets and point guard Aaron Holiday to the Phoenix Suns.

Harrell is averaging 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season. Dinwiddie has scored 12.6 points and grabbed 4.7 rebounds per game, so both are key contributors.

Porzingis could be a good addition to the Wizards if they hang on to him, but health is always a big concern with him. The big question now is how all of the moves will impact Bradley Beal’s future.

Beal was shut down for the season this week so he can undergo surgery on his wrist. There has been speculation that he chose to have the surgery now after the Wizards missed out on one of their top trade targets.

Though Beal has repeatedly insisted he wants to remain in Washington, it will be interesting to see if that changes this offseason. He’s eligible to sign a five-year, $245 million contract this summer, but it’s unclear how he will feel about the direction of the team and all the recent moves.
