Wizards' John Wall apologizes for flashing gang signs in video

Washington Wizards star John Wall is facing backlash this offseason after an incident that happened in New York City.

Wall issued an apology on Sunday after he was seen on video throwing up gang signs during a party in the city. The video showed Wall shirtless with some of his friends giving the middle finger and flashing a series of signs.

It's not the first time the 30-year-old made the gestures. During a playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks in 2015, Wall made the same signs after a couple of highlight plays.

Wall hasn't played an NBA game since 2018 after undergoing season-ending surgery to remove bone spurs in his heel. He also tore his Achilles in February 2019.

Although he hasn't played as of late, he's averaged 19 points, 9.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 573 career games.
