Woj offers wild insight into just how uniquely talented Victor Wembanyama is

The NBA features the bulk of the most talented basketball players on the planet, and obviously each one is capable of doing something eye-opening at any given moment. But San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama may have set a new standard for leaving people shocked on a daily basis.

During a recent segment on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski broke out a few tidbits on what he’s heard when it comes to Wembanyama, and one quote certainly stood out.

“You talk to people around the Spurs who’ve watched him this summer and then into practice, preseason, they say that Victor Wembanyama does two or three things every day that you’ve never seen a basketball player do before,” Wojnarowski said.

While that’s certainly incredible to hear, it’s not shocking considering the amount of immense hype (rightfully) swirling around Wembanyama. While he’ll still face the tall task of facing some of the NBA’s best defenders when the regular season gets underway, it’s hard to imagine him not having a very real chance to thrive right out of the gate.

Wembanyama’s preseason debut had a number of impressive moments, and he also shot the ball well, finishing the night with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting while adding five rebounds, two steals and one block in 19 minutes against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
