A concerning update has emerged regarding the health of Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown.

Brown underwent pain management injections this week to try to alleviate the issues he is experiencing with his right knee, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Brown is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee, with the issue becoming particularly troublesome recently. He has missed each of the team’s last two games as he tries to manage the injury.

The injections were meant to promote healing with the NBA Playoffs looming, according to the report. Brown is still expected to be ready to play when the postseason begins.

The Celtics had to be hoping Brown’s injury would be improving by this point, but that does not appear to be the case. He has not played 30 minutes in a game since March 12. He has missed six games since that point and has struggled when he has played, averaging a modest 16.4 points per game dating back to that point.

The Celtics have endured a few injury scares lately. Brown’s is the one that has lingered the most, but even with that issue, they have won 60 games and locked up the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite that, if Brown is not close to full health, their mission to repeat as NBA champions will become a lot tougher.
