Notable Positions Prior to the Season

The 53 man roster will most likely consist of one kicker and three quarterbacks. The Cowboys recently signed Lirim Hajrullahu to compete with Jonathan Garibay for the kicking job. Only one of these kickers is going to make it to the regular season.

At the moment the third quarterback is yet to be determined. The likely course of action is they will pick up a free agent or acquire a backup with a trade. This won’t be a player expecting to see any playing time. With Dak as the starter and having seen what Rush can do in a pinch, the third quarterback is strictly precautionary.

Dalton Schultz and the Cowboys front office are currently in contact negotiations. Reportedly the two parties are not in agreement. Schultz is the top tight end on the roster meaning this contract could alter the starting lineup. The Cowboys should be looking to make this deal work because Schultz has displayed

Another notable position is the wide receiver group. Ceedee Lamb and Michael Gallup are going to need to stay busy. Amari Cooper was a solid option for Dak and the Cowboys didn’t really replace him. Instead they are banking on the duo of Lamb and Gallop to stay healthy and produce big numbers. The two are certainly capable of that. But nobody can predict when an injury may occur. If that were to happen it would put a strain on the offense.
