The second-year quarterback Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers are currently preparing for their week 14 bout against their division rivals Seattle Seahawks. Ahead of the much-anticipated game, Purdy addressed the media in a press conference where he was asked about Colin Cowherd ‘s comments about the quarterback wearing his hat backward.
During the pregame press conference, a reporter asked Purdy whether he thinks that he is representing the organization in a good way while wearing his backward at the podium. Purdy smirked before saying this:
Man, that’s just who I am. I think so. Purdy on press-conference.
Following Purdy’s answer, the reporter asked whether he knew what the question was about. Purdy didn’t directly acknowledge that the question was in reference to Colin Cowherd’s comments, but he told the reporter he knew what the question was about.
Some guys have told me in the locker room and stuff. I don’t buy into all that stuff. I’m just trying to play quarterback and win games.Almost a week ago, Cowherd called out Purdy for wearing his hat backward. The Fox Sports analyst said that Purdy is not a franchise quarterback since he doesn’t even look professional. As expected, Cowherd’s comments caused massive outrage on social media and fans started bashing the renowned sports analyst. And now, Purdy himself has addressed the comments.
Brock Purdy and the Niners looking to acquire the No.1 seed
The San Francisco 49ers, led by their star quarterback Brock Purdy, dominantly started the season as they registered 5 consecutive victories and looked invincible. However, following their strong 5-0 start, the Niners dropped three games in a row before heading into their bye week.
After their bye week, the Niners again regained their old form and have won 4 consecutive games, including a tough road game against the defending NFC Champions Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, Purdy and the Niners have a solid record of wins and 3 losses. And again, they look like they can’t be stopped by any team in the league. Besides, they are just one game behind the Eagles, who are currently holding the No.1 seed in the NFC playoff picture.
The 49ers would look to win out their remaining games and secure that No.1 seed, which will give them a bye week during the first round of the postseason. In their quest for the No.1 seed, they are scheduled to face the Seattle-based football team in their next matchup on Sunday.
