49ers RB Tevin Coleman out for Thursday game vs. Packers with knee injury

The San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers will both be without multiple running backs for Thursday's prime-time game.

Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Tuesday that Tevin Coleman will not be available against the Packers due to the knee injury that he suffered during this past Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Also sidelined are fellow ball-carriers Jeff Wilson and Raheem Mostert. Both are on injured reserve.

JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon will likely share the workload on Thursday. Hasty tallied 29 rushing yards and a touchdown against Seattle, while McKinnon added a rushing score and four receptions on the day.

Additionally, San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could miss the remainder of the season with a high ankle sprain, and All-Pro tight end George Kittle is out due to a broken bone in his foot.

On the other sideline of Thursday's affair, the Packers know that rookie RB AJ Dillon and Jamaal Williams won't play against San Francisco. Dillon tested positive for COVID-19, and Williams has been deemed a "high-risk close contact." Starting back Aaron Jones missed the past two games because of a calf injury. It's unknown if he'll be in the lineup on Thursday.

Veteran Tyler Ervin and practice-squad player Dexter Williams may be Green Bay's best options for the backfield against the 49ers.
