Pittsburgh Steelers’ standout pass-rusher, TJ Watt, has long been recognized as one of the premier defensive talents in the NFL. Another legendary figure in the league, Aaron Donald, recently retired, having left an indelible mark on the sport.

With a decade of dominance under his belt, Donald possesses invaluable insight into the characteristics of exceptional defenders.

During a recent appearance on the “Green Light” podcast, Donald shared his perspective on the future of defensive prowess, singling out TJ Watt as a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

The podcast shared a snippet of Donald’s endorsement of Watt via Twitter, sparking considerable attention within the football community.

“If you talk about a guy that’s consistent, been doing it year-in, year-out consistently, that’s gonna get you 15 sacks, 13 sacks, d— 22 sacks consistent, he’s the guy been doing it consistently. His stats be ridiculous every single year.”

In addition to highlighting TJ Watt’s potential, Donald also lauded other defensive stalwarts who are poised to disrupt NFL offenses in the foreseeable future.

Among them, he mentioned the impressive abilities of Micah Parsons, the dynamic linebacker from the Dallas Cowboys, and Myles Garrett, the formidable defensive end for the Cleveland Browns.

Having announced his retirement in March, Aaron Donald leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, having amassed 111 sacks and 542 total tackles throughout his illustrious career.

As the torch passes to the next generation of defensive stars, his endorsement of players like TJ Watt, Parsons, and Garrett underscores the ongoing evolution of defensive excellence in the NFL.

It will be interesting to see how the Pittsburgh Steelers’ superstar fares in 2024. He has shown no signs of slowing down at all.
