Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley have not mentioned one another publicly for quite some time, and we now know why. The couple has reportedly broken up.

Rodgers and Woodley recently called off their engagement, according to In Touch. The split apparently came after Woodley felt the Green Bay Packers star had “neglected their relationship” and was focusing solely on his football career. One source told the gossip publication that Rodgers is an “independent guy” who got cold feet about marrying Woodley.

Rodgers stunned the sports world and Hollywood almost exactly a year ago when he thanked his “fiancee” in his MVP speech. There had been some rumblings that he and Woodley were dating, but the relationship quickly went from casual to as serious as it gets. Rodgers was named NFL MVP again this year, and he didn’t make any mention of Woodley in his acceptance speech. That led to more speculation that he and the actress had gone their separate ways.

Woodley enthusiastically defended Rodgers back in November over a false report about the quarterback and his COVID quarantine. Not long after that, there were rumors that the two had broken up.

Woodley and Rodgers began dating near the start of the pandemic in 2020 and were engaged shortly after. They were all about the PDA at first, which we saw when they spent time together in Hawaii.

Rodgers has yet to announce any decisions about whether he will play in 2022. Though, it seems like the Packers believe he is leaning a certain way.
