Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision on whether he will play in 2022 or not. If he does suit up though, it certainly sounds like it will be with the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers has had discussions with the Packers about a short-term contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The two sides are negotiating so that a contract will be ready if and when Rodgers decides to continue his playing career.

According to Rapoport, the proposed deal would be a short-term contract, and it would make Rodgers the league’s highest-paid player in terms of annual salary. What that exact salary would be is unclear, though Rodgers has disputed reports about one specific number.

This news certainly suggests that Rodgers is on good terms with the Packers, or good enough terms to at least consider returning to the only professional football team he's ever known. The chances of Rodgers playing for another organization would appear to decrease if Ropaoport's report is indeed accurate.
