Rumors continue to fly about Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers, but the quarterback was willing to dispel at least one of them.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Dianna Russini claimed Rodgers was looking to become the highest-paid player in the NFL, and could seek as much as $50 million annually. That claim prompted Pat McAfee, who regularly has Rodgers as a guest on his show, to reach out to the quarterback for comment.
Rodgers did respond, telling McAfee on Friday that the report was “categorically false.”
Narratives have gone unchecked for a very LONG time.. I reached AHT to @AaronRodgers12 this morning & asked if he wants to be the highest paid NFL player by a large margin…
"categorically false" was his response#PMSLive pic.twitter.com/OkjJPpoKew

Rodgers does not have to be telling the truth here, but $50 million would be a pretty ridiculous annual sum. One can understand why he might want to shoot that rumor down, especially since even former teammates were critical of him in light of it.
