Aaron Rodgers to appear on 'Pat McAfee Show' Wednesday amid Jets buzz

The NFL community could soon learn what Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers intends to do for at least the 2023 season.

The Twitter account for "The Pat McAfee Show" has confirmed that Rodgers will appear on Wednesday's edition of the program at around 1 p.m. ET. As noted by the NFL's website, the new league year opens at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday:

Rodgers has repeatedly been linked in stories and rumors with the New York Jets since January, and the future Hall of Famer has a history of breaking big news to McAfee rather than to other NFL reporters who aren't in the signal-caller's "inner circle."

On March 8, 2022, "The Pat McAfee Show" Twitter account shared that Rodgers would be returning to the Packers for this past season. More information about Rodgers' contract extension was revealed later that day, and it was then learned on March 15 that he and the organization had made the extension official.

Rodgers typically makes midweek appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show" during NFL seasons. McAfee has insisted on multiple occasions he has no inside information about Rodgers' plans for 2023, but the former punter did say on Tuesday he believes the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player could retire and walk away from nearly $60 million in fully guaranteed money he is owed for next season.

With that said, most signs point to Rodgers joining the Jets as soon as Wednesday. Before the McAfee account broke the news about Rodgers' latest show appearance, it was reported that the Jets will be signing former Green Bay wide receiver Allen Lazard. Lazard was specifically named one of at least four players on Rodgers' supposed "wish list" of potential free-agent targets.

Whatever happens, it sounds like March 15, 2023, will be a day Jets fans remember for some time.
