NFL analyst says Rodgers to Jets is done, but conflicting reports say otherwise

Trey Wingo is a long-time NFL talking head who many veteran sports fans know from his time on the likes of NFL Primetime, NFL Live, SportsCenter, and ESPN Radio.

In that manner, Wingo is a respected part of sports media. When it comes to breaking news, though, he's still trying to develop his chops—and he's no Adam Schefter or Ian Rapaport.

That hasn't stopped Wingo from trying to break news about Aaron Rodgers, however, and his latest tweet on the Rodgers saga was a big one. In fact, he tweeted that the Green Bay Packers would indeed be trading the four-time MVP to the New York Jets.

That's exciting news and all, but unfortunately, Wingo's tweet was pretty much immediately debunked by some of the usual crowd.

Here's Rapaport and Schefter:

It is worth noting that long-time Green Bay beat reporter Tom Silverstein seemed to initially go with Wingo's reporting, but he did back off it a bit as well:

So where is Rodgers in all of this? True to form, he's seemingly talking about everything other than what the NFL world wants to hear about.

Wingo's tweet could end up being right. There's certainly a world where Rodgers becomes a Jet, and in fact, it seems likely. It's worth noting that previous reports suggest that both sides are waiting on the four-time MVP, though.

For now, we wait.

We're the ones in the dark.
