The Washington Commanders are in need of an offensive tackle after the team cut Charles Leno Jr. on Friday.

Chances are, the Commanders will seek that upgrade in the draft, where new general manager Adam Peters has found some gems in the trenches during his time as John Lynch's assistant with the San Francisco 49ers.

Here's a look at some of the players he drafted in the last few years on the offensive line ...

2018: Mike McGlinchey - 1st round (9)

2019: Justin Skule - 6th round (183)

2020: Colton McKivitz - 5th round (153)

2021: Aaron Banks - 2nd round (48)

2022: Spencer Burford - 4th round (134)

2022: Nick Zakelj - 6th round (187)

The 49ers have been all over the place between using free agency and the draft to add to the offensive line. McGlinchey, who played right tackle, was San Francisco's highest-picked offensive lineman and left in free agency before last season to sign a five-year $87 million deal with the Denver Broncos.

Banks has become an anchor on the interior of the offensive line, while McKivitz and Burford have worked their way into starting roles after being mid-round picks.

Improving the offensive line is arguably the biggest need for the Commanders after they allowed the second-most sacks last season. If Peters isn't enamored with any of the quarterbacks in this class, his history with the 49ers has proven he may not be afraid to take one early.
