There is no question that former Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri will enter the Hall of Fame.

But he hopes one of his former teammates is already there waiting for him after this year.

This upcoming Hall of Fame class will be Colts WR Reggie Wayne's 3rd year in a row on the ballot after failing to make the cut the last two years. Colts fans have believed for a while that their former great wide receiver deserves his place in the Hall of Fame.

Now Vinatieri has chimed in with his opinion on his former teammate. Earlier this year, I was able to speak with Wayne's running mate at WR and current Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison about whether or not Wayne should be in the Hall, and he had the following to say:

23 Wrs, including Reggie Wayne, are currently eligible for the Hall of Fame class of 2024. After three long years, I agree with Harrison and Vinateir that his wait for the Gold Jacket should come to an end this year, as he is more than deserving of the honor.

Of course, Wayne has his mind on the Colts current WR as their WR coach. But this is an honor that Wayne has been dreaming about from the moment he walked on a football field for the first time. If it comes to fruition, and this is the year, he would join the likes of the best players to ever play in the NFL, including some notable former teammates/coaches who have already taken their rightful place in Canton.
