Alec Ingold: Loss to Falcons a 'gut check' for Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders entered Week 12 with a 6-4 record and high hopes to beat the Atlanta Falcons who, at the time, were 3-7.

Beating the Falcons should've been easy for the Raiders, especially considering they're the only team this season to defeat the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Instead, though, Jon Gruden's squad was blown out 43-6.

With the loss, Las Vegas now is in danger of dropping to .500, or even below that if it continues to struggle in the coming weeks. With important games coming up, Raiders fullback Alec Ingold admitted that the Raiders' loss to the Falcons was a "gut check" for the team, according to Pro Football Talk.

The Raiders had won three straight before dropping their last two games. It's very likely they stop the bleeding against the winless Jets this weekend, though New York did beat them last year to help the Raiders close out the season with a disappointing 7-9 record.

With games against the Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos to close out the season, the Raiders very well could finish with a winning record for the first time since 2016. However, the final month of the 2020 campaign will be very telling for the Raiders. If they continue to lose, changes may be on the horizon.
