All-time great TE Rob Gronkowski insists: 'I wouldn’t go back to football'

Model Camille Kostek raised eyebrows this past weekend when she teased that future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski, her boyfriend, will eventually "come back again" to play despite his second retirement back on June 21 and the fact that he recently insisted he's "done with football" even if quarterback and "best friend" Tom Brady asked him to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at some point during the 2022 NFL season.

While Kostek obviously knows Gronkowski better than most, the 33-year-old sounds quite serious about never featuring for any pro team again.

For a piece published Wednesday morning, ESPN's Jenna Laine noted how Gronkowski is embracing non-football-related endeavors but isn't looking to catch passes thrown by Brady on future fall Sundays.

"I’m not like really retired," Gronkowski explained. "It’s just from the game of football. ... It’s not from life. ... When people start retiring, they start dying."

Per Laine, Gronkowski is looking to be more involved with his brother's Ice Shaker company and his father's G&G Fitness Equipment company. The four-time Super Bowl champion is also set to host the USA Today High School Sports Awards later this month and has multiple commercial opportunities in front of him.

Gronkowski added that even a call from Brady would not change his mind before Super Bowl LVII in February.

"Obviously I’ll answer [the call]. It’s the greatest of all time calling me. We have a great relationship, on and off the field," Gronkowski commented about Brady. "We’re friends. ... But I wouldn’t go back to football. I’m all set. I’m enjoying what I’m doing, and I’m enjoying trying to find what I really, really want to do next."
