Buccaneers sign former Vikings Pro Bowl TE Kyle Rudolph to one-year deal

When the 2022 NFL season begins, Tom Brady will have a new tight end to target in Tampa Bay.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free-agent tight end Kyle Rudolph to a one-year deal.

Rudolph played the 2021 season with the New York Giants after signing a four-year, $36 million deal.

In 16 games for the Giants, Rudolph caught 26 of 39 targets for 257 yards and a touchdown.

The Giants released Rudolph on March 2.

The 32-year-old has seen a decline in his numbers recently. Over the past two seasons combined, Rudolph has just 54 catches for 591 yards and two touchdowns.

A second-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2011, Rudolph played the first ten seasons of his career with the Vikings. He made the Pro Bowl twice (2012, 2017), compiling 453 catches for 4,488 yards and 48 touchdowns while playing in 140 regular-season games. Rudolph played six playoff games for the Vikings, finishing with 16 catches and two touchdowns.
