Analyst believes Cowboys should move up in draft to select top RB prospect

The Bijan Robinson and Cowboys hype train keeps gaining momentum amid a wild offseason in Dallas.

ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, a former Pro Bowl safety, believes the Cowboys should favor the 2022 Doak Walker Award winner even if they must trade up in the draft.

"The Dallas Cowboys have it easy. Let's move up and get Robinson. Get the most dynamic back in this entire draft class," Clark said Tuesday on ESPN's "Get Up." "You go out and get Robinson; you have a one-two punch along with Tony Pollard, giving Dak Prescott the presence he needs in the backfield."

The Cowboys might be hesitant to draft another first-round RB since they recently released Ezekiel Elliott, and it's a deep class, so they don't have to trade up to acquire an elite talent at that position.

However, Robinson's potential is nearly impossible to ignore.

In three seasons as a Longhorn, Robinson ran for the fourth-most rushing yards (3,410) in program history and scored its fourth-most TDs from scrimmage (41).

Last season, he forced 104 missed tackles, per Pro Football Focus, which was the most in the FBS and a PFF record.

Even though RBs have lost some value, scouts believe teams can make an exception for Robinson.

"Robinson has the potential to be one of the rare RBs that can single-handedly carry a team to wins," wrote the Draft Network's Keith Sanchez.

Additionally, he complements Pollard, a Pro Bowler, because he's a bigger power back (5-foot-11, 215 pounds) and can prevent Dallas from overworking Pollard.

The Cowboys (No. 26 overall) might have to trade up to get him since he's projected to be outside their range. According to Tankathon, the Buccaneers will select him with the 19th pick.

Moving up in the draft can be risky, but it's worthwhile if the Cowboys can get a fair price and acquire a talent like Robinson.
