Former Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown is a college graduate. Brown posted a video of himself on X at Central Michigan’s graduation ceremony with a burgundy gown and cap on, and a gold graduation stole around his neck. “Late Graduation, #congratulations,” Brown wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Brown attended and played college football for Central Michigan from 2007 to 2009. He left school early after being drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round (195th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. Brown caught 837 passes for 11,207 yards (13.4 average) and 74 touchdowns in nine seasons with the Steelers. He also had four punt returns for a touchdown and one kickoff returner for a touchdown.

Brown had at least 100 receptions and over 1,000 yards receiving in every season from 2013-2018. He made seven Pro Bowl and was named first-team All-Pro during his tenure in Pittsburgh.

According to CNN, Brown enrolled in online classes at Central Michigan to finish his college degree in September of 2019 when he was out of the NFL due to allegations of sexual and personal misconduct levied against him.

Brown signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 27, 2020 after serving an eight-game suspension for multiple violations of the league’s personal-conduct policy. Brown went on to win a Super Bowl and played one more season in Tampa Bay before calling it a career.

Brown has become a rapper in his post-football career and also had a tumultuous tenure as the owner of professional indoor football team the Albany Empire. On June 15, 2023, the National Arena League terminated the Empire’s franchise agreement, due to Brown’s failure to pay the league for dues and fines that he owed.

In the meantime, Brown was taking online classes at Central Michigan to finish his degree. Per the report from CNN in 2019, Brown was enrolled in Introduction to Management and an English class on Technical Writing. He was also taking a religion class called “Death and Dying” and a sociology class on racism and inequality.
