Are Cowboys targeting Georgia CB in first round of draft?

Per The Atheltic's Jon Machota, the Dallas Cowboys could shift their offseason focus from offense to defense in the NFL Draft.

The Dallas offense underwent significant changes this offseason, including head coach Mike McCarthy taking over play-calling. Along with changing the offensive scheme, the Cowboys want to restructure the contracts of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, raising questions about their futures.

Therefore, it seemed like Dallas would emphasize offensive prospects in the first round.

However, CB is a crucial need since offenses exposed the position's lack of depth after Anthony Brown suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 13.

In 12 games with Brown, the Cowboys never surrendered 300 passing yards, posting a 9-3 record. In seven games without Brown, including the postseason, they allowed 300 passing yards or more three times and went 4-3.

Brown, who's still recovering from his injury, is an unrestricted free agent. However, it's unclear if Dallas will re-sign him since it's $7.5M over the cap, per Spotrac. The Cowboys also must sign free-agent RB Tony Pollard and LB Leighton Vander Esch.

CB Jourdan Lewis, who missed most of last season with a Lisfranc injury (foot), is entering the final year of his contract.

Ringo won two national championships at Georgia and made the 2022 All-SEC Second Team

ESPN draft guru Todd McShay praised Ringo's speed and range.

"He has outstanding top speed. He has an excellent catch radius and elite length to bat down passes around WRs, " McShay wrote.

Per Tankathon's mock draft, Dallas will select Ringo with the 27th pick.
