Following a two-season stint in Arizona, the Cardinals have decided to part ways with veteran quarterback Colt McCoy, as reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter.

With Kyler Murray beginning the regular season on the PUP list, it was highly anticipated that Colt McCoy would win the Cardinals starting quarterback position.

In the preceding season, McCoy took the field for the Cardinals across four games, notably starting in three. During this stretch, the veteran quarterback maintained an average of 195 yards per game.

McCoy also started the first two games of the Cardinals preseason.

However, in an unexpected twist, the Cardinals introduced QB Joshua Dobbs into the equation through free agency. This move came less than a week ago and raised further questions about the Cardinals trust in McCoy.

Now, some of these questions have started to find answers.

While the starting quarterback remains unknown, the competition has narrowed down to Joshua Dobbs and rookie Clayton Tune.

Between these two quarterbacks, they have a total of just two career starts.
