The Cleveland Browns are one of many NFL teams that have been absolutely ravaged by players being forced to enter COVID-19 protocols.

One of the Cleveland players impacted was starting quarterback Baker Mayfield.

As recently as Sunday, Mayfield posted on social media that he “had no symptoms” and was “praying to test negative for COVID” ahead of his team’s looming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Unfortunately, on Monday it was revealed that Mayfield had failed to test off the reserve/COVID-19 list – resulting in third-string quarterback Nick Mullens getting the starting nod against the Raiders on Monday night.

In the aftermath of that news going public, Baker’s wife Emily released a very exasperated message on Instagram.

“Super frustrating, since he feels 110%,” she wrote.

“He did EVERYTHING he could to get that negative test…. but we can only control what’s within our control. And this isn’t one of those things.”

As things presently stand, the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are tied at 8-6 in the AFC North standings, followed by the Browns in third at 7-6. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-6-1, good for last place in the division, but only a half game back of first.

Given how tight the AFC North race is, it’s understandable why everyone is in their feelings right now.
