The Chicago Bears lost their sixth game of the season with a defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, and it wasn't much of a contest. Tyson Bagent's second NFL start wasn't nearly as productive as his first and the Bears clearly miss the versatility of Justin Fields.
Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Chargers Recap
First Half
The Bears got the ball to begin the game. On the opening play, Tyson Bagent hit Darnell Mooney for a huge gain worth over forty yards. But a penalty and a sack pushed them out of field-goal range and they were forced to punt.
Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense took over and had their way with the Chicago Bears' defense. Austin Ekeler caught a short pass and took it 39 yards to the house for the opening score of the night.
Down by a touchdown, the Bears offense took over and couldn't move the football. They punted again and Los Angeles continued to walk right through the Chicago defense.
Justin Herbert found Simi Fehoko in the endzone for a nine-yard touchdown and the Chargers now lead 14-0.
When the Bears offense got back on the field, there was nearly a disaster. Roschon Johnson fumbled the football but luckily the Bears recovered it at the bottom of a pile.
But the good luck didn't last long as Tyson Bagent threw an interception shortly after.
Herbert nearly turned the ball over when leading another offensive drive but the ball was dropped. The Bears' defense was able to hold the Chargers to a 43-yard field goal.
Finally, after being shut out for almost the entire first half, the Chicago Bears scored. After a 14-play, seven-minute drive, Darrynton Evans rushed into the endzone for an 11-yard touchdown.
The Bears now trail the Chargers 17-7.
The Chargers got back on offense and took full advantage of the time remaining in the second quarter. They drove 75 yards in less than two minutes and Donald Parham Jr. scored, extending the Los Angeles lead to 24-7.
Second Half
The Chargers opened the third quarter with a six-minute drive and a successful, 53-yard field goal from Cameron Dicker.
The Bears' offense went three-and-out on the following drive and the Chargers punted after several plays as well.
The Bears finally got aggressive on offense and went for a new set of downs on a short fourth down. But the Chargers defense stopped them short and this led to another Dicker field goal. The Chargers lead 30-7.
Tyson Bagent continued to struggle as he led the Bears' offense. He threw to Darnell Mooney on fourth down and was intercepted by Derwin James.
On the next Los Angeles offensive drive, Justin Herbert completed a pass to Austin Ekeler, who fumbled and T.J. Edwards recovered it.
Tyson Bagent led the Bears down the field all the way to the one-yard line. Utilizing the Philadelphia Eagles' "Tush Push" play, Bagent rushed for the touchdown. The Bears went for two points and failed, they trailed Los Angeles 30-13.
The Chargers offense took over and ran out the clock beating the Bears by a final score of 30-13.

T.J. Edwards led the Chicago Bears defense with 13 total tackles followed by Tyrique Stevenson with 12. Stevenson left the game with an injury as well as Tremaine Edmunds with a knee issue. The Bears fall to a record of 2-6 and have a road matchup with the New Orleans Saints next Sunday.
