The Chicago Bears are adding depth to their linebacker corps and General Manager Ryan Poles isn't wasting much time. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Bears are reportedly signing Amen Ogbongbemiga to a one-year deal worth over $2 million.

Who Is Amen Ogbongbemiga?

Amen Ogbongbemiga is a 25-year-old, three-year NFL veteran, born in Lagos, Nigeria. Ogbongbemiga spent four years at Oklahoma State, where he recorded nine sacks and one interception across 38 games.

Amen went undrafted but signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 where the lone two starts of his career took place. He played in 47 games total over three years with the Chargers, recorded one sack with 36 total tackles, and recovered two fumbles.

Most of Ogbongbemiga's snaps came on Special Teams. He hasn't played consistent defensive snaps since 2021. Ogbongbemiga stands six feet tall, weighs over 230 lbs, and provides depth for the Chicago Bears' defense.

GM Ryan Poles and the Bears are giving Ogbongbemiga a one-year deal with $1.1 million guaranteed and a maximum earning of $2.5 million.
