The Steelers will look to reshape the quarterback room this offseason, and while it depends on how that will go down, the carousel and rumors will be endless. One of those players that will likely be circled for them is Justin Fields. Fields is in his thrid season with Chicago, but with them holding the Panthers’ pick, the No. 1 overall pick at that, it seems likely that Fields could be moved.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler theorized the compensation to acquire Fields, and it’s not a first-round pick. That could make it more palatable to a team like the Steelers.

“The consensus in an informal poll of league evaluators is that Fields would be worth a second- or third-round pick in a pre-draft trade,” Fowler wrote.

Already, Justin Fields to the Steelers has become a movement that some analysts want to see happen. Robert Mays of The Ringer wants Fields in Pittsburgh because of the fit and marriage of that talent.

“If the Steelers decide, ‘Hey, we did the Kenny Pickett thing, even if we didn’t put him in the best position, we still think this isn’t our best path forward,’ are they a team that could look to take a big swing and try to go get somebody like this?” Mays said on The Athletic Football Show.

Mays even put it out there that the team could look at former Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman to pair with Fields. He’s an entirely different player than Kenny Pickett or Mason Rudolph.

He is also a bit skittish in the pocket and struggles to win from it. But Fields has the arm talent and dynamic ability on the ground that few players have in the NFL. That makes him a volatile but high-upside option if they wanted to go that route. Regardless, no one knows what they will do this offseason, but Fields is in contention for a possibility.
