Teams hope their rookies have both a short- and long-term impact to help them win games. These 25 players have the best opportunity to help during the 2025 season.

With the retirement of future Hall of Fame guard Zack Martin, the Cowboys were desperate for offensive line help. Booker helps fill the void after the team saw their line deteriorate last season, aiding Dak Prescott and the running game.

Luither Burden III, WR, Bears
Jay Biggerstaff / USA Today Sports Images
A former top recruit, Burden saw his stock drop last season after a subpar campaign. He still shows excellent run-after-the-catch ability, and can also be used as a returner immediately. With the loss of Keenan Allen, Caleb Williams has a notable replacement.

The Eagles never met a high upside pass rush prospect they didn't like, and they traded up one spot in the draft to ensure they got Campbell 31st overall. He should contribute to the team's defensive rotation immediately after recording 117 tackles and five sacks at Alabama last season.

A foot injury during the draft process didn't deter the Giants from selecting Carter third overall. The team adds to its embarrassment of riches up front with a player who is ready now after recording 23 sacks over three seasons at Penn State.

Jaxson Dart, QB, Giants
Thomas Salus / USA Today Sports Images
Dart surprised as a first-round pick, but the Giants are desperate to turn the page at quarterback. He could bide his time behind veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but the win-now Giants also won't hesitate to insert Dart into the lineup if he impresses. He was highly accurate in Lane Kiffin's offense at Ole Miss last season, completing over 69% of his passes for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Mike Green, EDGE, Ravens
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
Green is a first-round talent who fell late into the second round due to off-field concerns. Baltimore is the perfect place for the Marshall alum, given their track record of developing successful pass rushers, and he's coming off a huge season with 17 sacks and 84 tackles.

Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
Jim Harbaugh showed he wanted to run the ball last season, and Hampton gives him the ability to be more productive on the ground. The UNC alum had back-to-back 1,500 yard rushing seasons, and is also dynamic in the passing game.

Mike Vrabel had Derrick Henry in Tennessee and hopes he can lean on Henderson in New England. The second-rounder rushed for more than 1,000 yards twice at Ohio State and could jump Rhamondre Stevenson on the depth chart early in 2025.

Wideout was a key need for the Texans after losing Stefon Diggs along with Tank Dell's injury recovery. Higgins and Jaylin Noel address the need immediately. Higgins is a deep threat, as he showed at Iowa State with over 2,100 yards receiving and 15.5 yards per catch over the last two years.

Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Jaguars
Ron Chenoy / USA Today Sports Images
Hunter is a generational talent for his ability to play both sides of the ball. After trading up for the Heisman Trophy winner, the Jags stated he will focus on offense first. The Jags have a void there after losing Christian Kirk, and Hunter should eventually be a key part of the defense, as well.
Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images
Jeanty had a historic season at Boise State with over 2,700 yards from scrimmage and 30 touchdowns, and is now set to be Pete Carroll's bell cow back. The revamped Raiders offense should be able to get Jeanty the ball 20-plus times per game, and will look to keep the clock running in the high-powered AFC West.

Kaleb Johnson, RB, Steelers
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
With the loss of powerful running back Najee Harris, Johnson has a similar profile. The Iowa alum had over 1,500 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns last season, and should pair well immediately with Jaylen Warren in a run-heavy offense.
Kyle Robertson / USA Today Sports Images
Likely moving on from Nick Chubb, the Browns will turn to Judkins as their featured back. The second-round pick rushed for more than 1,000 yards in three straight seasons with Ole Miss and Ohio State, and also shows plus ability as a receiver.

Colston Loveland, TE, Bears
Junfu Han / USA Today Sports Images
Former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was searching for his Sam LaPorta in Chicago, and Loveland has the ability. The first-round pick could jump Cole Kmet as the team's featured tight end, showing plus receiving skills.
Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images
Carolina has now used a first-round pick on a wide receiver in consecutive years. McMillan has exemplary deep ball skills, averaging 16.1 yards per catch at Arizona, and gives Bryce Young another notable weapon with Mike Evans-like upside.
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
Atlanta paid a heavy toll to trade up for Pearce in the first round, and is likely to give him every opportunity to play. He recorded a total of 17.5 sacks over the last two seasons at Tennessee.
17 of 25
Carson Schwesinger, LB, Browns
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
The first pick in the second round, Schwesinger recorded 136 tackles and four sacks in a breakout season at UCLA. He should step in as a starter immediately for a Browns team that's rebuilding.
Matt Stone / USA Today Sports Images
The quarterback position is in question for New Orleans as Derek Carr nurses a shoulder injury, so Shough could play soon. He's NFL-ready after a long college career at Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville.
Adam Cairns / USA Today Sports Images
The Chiefs desperately needed help at left tackle last year, and they found it in Simmons. He was considered by many to be the top offensive line talent in the draft but dropped to 32nd overall due to health and character concerns. It remains to be seen if Simmons will start by Week 1, but he could really help Patrick Mahomes and company down the stretch.
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
The dynamic Starks had six picks over three seasons at Georgia, and gives the Baltimore secondary scary upside paired with star Kyle Hamilton. The Ravens don't need to rush Starks, but he could force his way onto the field.

Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Bengals
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images
Cincinnati's pass rush deteriorated last season, and they desperately needed to add this offseason. He gives the team sizable upside opposite Trey Hendrickson.
Adam Cairns / USA Today Sports Images
A first-round talent who dropped to the second round, Tuimoloau showed his ability at Ohio State last season with 12.5 sacks. The Colts won't have to force him onto the field, but Tuimoloau should be in the pass rush rotation immediately.
Dale Zanine / USA Today Sports Images
Atlanta couldn't get to the quarterback last season, so Walker should see valuable snaps immediately. He didn't have to go far from Georgia to Atlanta, and will be counted on to help the Falcons defense as the 15th overall pick.
24 of 25
Cam Ward, QB, Titans
Denny Simmons / USA Today Sports Images
The first overall pick in the draft, Ward is set to replace Will Levis as the Titans starting quarterback. The team can't expect miracles with a roster that still needs more building, but Ward has shown the dynamic ability to college to be an excellent NFL starter.

Tyler Warren, TE, Colts
Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images
Warren was expected to be the top tight end selected by many, but fell just behind new Bears Colston Loveland. The fit is strong in Indy for the Penn State alum, who should start immediately after catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns last year.
