Bengals QB Joe Burrow details plan to get over Super Bowl hump

The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow have been close to winning championships, but no cigar.

Cincinnati narrowly lost to the Los Angeles Rams 23-20 in the Super Bowl two years ago and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-20 in the AFC Championship Game. This season, the hope if the Bengals can push further and get over the hump. In order to do so Burrow and the Bengals won't be changing much.

"Nothing too different. Keep doing exactly what we're doing," Burrow said, per Complex Sports. "I think we've put a great plan together the last couple of years, now we just have to finish it off. We have essentially the same team. A couple lost pieces, but we also added a couple pieces that I think will help us. Continuing to grind every day and get better and better."

Burrow believes they can't focus too much on the feature and just stick to the process, even if it sounds cliche.

"You just have to focus on perfecting every day and perfecting your craft every day," Burrow said. "Whatever you're working on, just give it your all and the rest usually takes care of itself."

The Bengals are still a youthful team that's in their prime, and per OddsChecker they're tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the fifth-best Super Bowl odds. Burrow feels in order to reach the highest stages building team chemistry remains important.

"Our guys understand how critical it is that you build that bond off the field," Burrow explained. "Not just quarterback and receiver, but we have our defensive guys hanging out with offensive guys and vice versa. And I think it's kind of rare. We work really hard to establish that trust and that bond because our guys know how critical that is to winning every day."

Burrow threw for 4,475 yards last season with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He and the Bengals will undoubtedly be back in the thick of things next postseason.
