Bengals WR Tee Higgins fined $9K for dunking ball over crossbar

Rookie wide receiver Tee Higgins has been slapped with the first fine of his NFL career.

Higgins was fined $9,291 for dunking the ball over the crossbar during the Cincinnati Bengals 36-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Players should be able to show off their personalities after scoring a touchdown, but sometimes the league sees certain celebrations as excessive. In this case, that's what the powers-that-be decided when reviewing Higgins' dunk.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce also was fined for dunking the ball over the crossbar during a Week 8 win over the New York Jets. However, he was fined more than Higgins, getting whacked for $12,500.

Higgins has been solid in his first NFL season, reeling in 40 receptions for 603 yards and four touchdowns alongside rookie quarterback Joe Burrow.
