We're about to talk in a positive manner about the Buffalo Bills offense, please don't be mad. Everyone copes in different ways, the abysmal effort over the past few weeks has us scrounging for positivity, hoping that the team can get out of the rut.
Outside of his fumble against the Cincinnati Bengals, Dalton Kincaid has been dominating over the past few weeks. Immediately after Dawson Knox required surgery and his timeline to return was unclear, Kincaid immediately jumped into action.
Before the season began, we wrote about how Dalton Kincaid has an excellent shot at making history. The first-round pick had sky-high expectations coming into this season, and over the past few weeks, he's shown he can be a reliable target.
Dalton Kincaid has a chance to break the Bills' single-season receiving record from a rookie tight end. The previous record is held by Tommy Hunter in 1983 in which he ended his rookie campaign with 402 yards. With the extra game and the pass-first offense Buffalo deploys, Kincaid has a real chance to break the record.
However, Kincaid has already cemented himself in the team's history books, as Sal Capaccio reported.
Kincaid, with his performances against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers and Cincinnati Bengals, has ascended into the number one overall spot in team history for receptions for a rookie tight end, beating out Tony Hunter, Ernie Warlick, and T.J. Graham.
In his last two contests, Kincaid has amassed 15 receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown. While he has had a slow start, he's still in line to break the team's single-season receiving record from a rookie tight end.
In fact, in order to beat the record, Kincaid only needs 63 receiving yards. If Buffalo keeps utilizing him in the offense, there's a very real shot that Kincaid can break the record on 'Monday Night Football' against the Denver Broncos in Buffalo.
A little positivity never hurts. We're just happy there's something we can celebrate after the brutal loss to the Bengals.
