Bills' Ed Oliver on May arrest: 'Felt like I was guilty until proven innocent'

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver finally had the chance to discuss his May arrest on Monday, and the details of his altercation with the police don't sound too pleasant.

Oliver admitted that it felt like he was "guilty until proven innocent," instead of the other way around, according to Michael Giardi of NFL Network.

The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon after being pulled over in Houston.

The charges against Oliver were dismissed in July after his blood tests for intoxication came back negative.

Officers said Oliver had an open beer can in the vehicle at the time and also failed a field sobriety test. A pistol also was found in the vehicle after a search.

The DWI charge was dismissed due to lack of evidence, and the weapon charge was dropped, too, because in Texas a person can carry a weapon if not intoxicated.

Oliver is heading into his second season in the NFL after being selected ninth overall in the 2019 draft. As a rookie, he recorded five sacks, one forced fumble, 24 solo tackles and eight quarterback hits.
