The Buffalo Bills needed to win on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they knew it wouldn't be an easy feat against a determined Dallas Cowboys squad.

However, a massive game from James Cook aided the Bills in their victory, as the running back finished the game with two touchdowns.

And he was rewarded on Wednesday, being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Cook finished with 179 rushing yards on 25 carries including one rushing touchdown. He also had two receptions for 42 yards and one receiving touchdown.

However, despite his efforts, head coach Sean McDermott decided to give the game ball to Josh Allen. While this might have felt like a snub at first, winning AFC Player of the Week has got to make up for that.

Cook is in his second season with the Bills, having far surpassed his rookie season totals. So far this season, he has 188 carries for 968 yards, but only two touchdowns. And both of those were scored in last week's game.

Here are the other Players of the Week:

NFC Offensive Player of the Week: Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield

AFC Defensive Player of the Week: Miami Dolphins OLB Bradley Chubb

NFC Defensive Player of the Week: Seattle Seahawks S Julian Love

AFC Special Teams Player of the Week: Houston Texans K Ka'imi Fairbairn

NFC Special Teams Player of the Week: Carolina Panthers K Eddy Pineiro
