Bills' Josh Allen addresses relationship with Stefon Diggs

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs insist they're as tight as ever heading into the season.

"Our communication’s at an all-time high, just understanding some of our concepts better, making sure that we’re talking and have an open line of communication," Allen said about the situation during a Wednesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," per Mike Rosenstein of the New York Post.

Diggs seemed to confront Allen during the home playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this past January, and the 29-year-old receiver was allegedly excused from the start of mandatory minicamp.

Allen then raised eyebrows when he told reporters that he felt there were "things I could do better to help out with this process and try to get (Diggs) back here and be the Buffalo Bill that he’s meant to be," but Diggs then said in July that "all is well in the mafia household" and that Allen is "always going to be my guy."

Diggs also denied wanting more of a voice in Buffalo's offensive planning and later poured cold water over a claim that he wished to be traded.

"The energy and juice that he’s had this training camp and as we’re going into the season is at an all-time high," Allen added about Diggs on Wednesday. "I love playing with him. We’re going to continue to grow and get better and I think this is going to be our best year yet. I really believe that."

As of Wednesday afternoon, OddsChecker listed the Bills as second among the betting favorites at +500 odds to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LVIII. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs topped the list at +350 odds at that time.

It's difficult to imagine the Bills remaining active through Super Bowl Sunday if the Allen-Diggs connection looks off throughout the fall. They'll get a chance to show they're on the same page when Buffalo opens the season at the division-rival New York Jets on Sept. 11.
