Bills star LB dishes surprising praise for Patriots, Mac Jones

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller gave some surprising praise for the New England Patriots and quarterback Mac Jones on Monday morning.

Miller's words come one day after his team's stunning Week 7 loss to their rivals, which saw Jones bounce back from a string of poor performances.

The University of Alabama product finished the Patriots' 29-25 victory 25-for-30 for 272 passing yards and two touchdowns against no interceptions. Jones's 83.3 completion percentage and 126.7 quarterback rating both shattered his previous season highs.

Even though Buffalo has been banged up on defense and was playing on the road, the perennial AFC contender's last-minute loss was arguably the biggest upset of Sunday's Week 7 NFL action. The Bills entered Sunday having won four of their last five and hadn't allowed more than 25 points all season.

It's tough to tell if Jones is really turning a corner, as he's shown flashes of potential in his young career, earning 2021 Pro Bowl honors as a rookie.

Either way, it was still notable to see a star veteran like Miller praise the signal-caller and New England as a whole, especially when he said, "still looks like the Patriots of the golden days." It's true, the former Super Bowl MVP did make sure to add that legends like "Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski (and) all those players" aren't with the group anymore, but it still sounds like Miller won't be counting out the Bill Belichick-led squad.
