Bills star LB reveals best-, worst-case scenarios for return from injury

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller revealed the best- and worst-case scenarios on Thursday for his return from last season's torn ACL.

The 34-year-old went down with a season-ending injury during the team's Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions in Week 12 last year. Miller was leading the Bills in both quarterback hits with 12 and sacks at 8.0 at the time and still finished in second and tied for first in the categories respectively, despite the six missed contests.

Even as he enters his mid-30s and has now missed significant time in two of the last three campaigns (Miller was out the entire 2020 season with an ankle injury), the return of the Texas A&M product should be a big boost to Buffalo's defense.

Miller has racked up eight Pro Bowl nods, three first-team All-Pro honors and two Super Bowl rings since entering the league in 2011. He won the Super Bowl 50 MVP Award when he helped lead the Denver Broncos over the Carolina Panthers and has played in 11 playoff games in his career. Over the near-dozen tournament tilts, Miller recorded 18 quarterback hits, 12 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Buffalo enters 2023 yet again with championship talent and aspirations after continuing to fall just short of the big game in recent years. In head coach Sean McDermott's six seasons at the helm, the Bills have had five playoff berths (four straight) including an AFC Championship Game appearance and back-to-back losses in the divisional round.

With Miller on the mend, Bills Mafia is finally looking to get over the hump this winter.
