Baltimore Ravens linebacker Tyus Bowser is "pretty optimistic" about a possible return and the status of his knee injury according to head coach John Harbaugh.
"I can't say it's a guarantee," Harbaugh said. "It's a knee that's a little angry at times. But who knows? Maybe we'll get Tyus back. We'll see how that goes in the next few weeks."
Bowser has missed every game this season so far with a knee injury that flared up in the offseason. When the injury worsened, the Ravens were forced to put him on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List.
Being on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List meant that Bowser would have to miss the first four games of the season. Not only has the linebacker missed the first four games of the season, he has not played or been active for any of Baltimore's eight games.
He has struggles with injuries in his past, suffering an Achilles injury in 2021 that has plagued him through multiple seasons.
The Ravens drafted Bowser in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Houston. Since then, the 28-year-old has recorded 19.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, four interceptions and four forced fumbles all while being a good run defender.
Bowser's return would be a solid addition to the stellar defense that the Ravens have sported through the first half of the season. While his presence isn't needed at the linebacker position with Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen holding it down, he would certainly be welcomed back into the fold with open arms.
