Brett Favre: 'No one's replacing Aaron Rodgers'

After the Green Bay Packers moved up in the 2020 NFL Draft to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love 26th overall, there were rumors that maybe Aaron Rodgers could be traded.

Obviously that's not true, and Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst shot down those rumors almost immediately. While Love will train to be Green Bay's quarterback of the future, Rodgers isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Although Rodgers ended up being drafted to replace Brett Favre in 2005, the former Packers quarterback said absolutely no one is coming in and replacing Rodgers so easily.

"You gotta just keep doing what you’re doing. And, Aaron and I watched a lot of extra film together, I had no problems giving him any insight that he asked for if I could, and I think Aaron will do that too," Favre said, according to TMZ Sports. "Look, no one’s going to replace Aaron unless Aaron chooses to be replaced. There’s no worry for him that he’s going to be ousted. He’s too good of a player."

There's really no replacing Rogers at this point, especially with a relatively inexperienced Love.  The Utah State product had a highly questionable senior season, throwing for 3,402 yards, 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions after a promising junior year campaign. His field vision and decision making are highly questionable, so he'll likely need to be groomed under Rodgers for the next few years.

There's nothing wrong with that, but Love is going to have to put in some serious work if he wants the starting position in the years to come.
