Broncos All-Pro LB Von Miller won't face criminal charges

Back on Jan. 15, the Denver Post reported that Denver Broncos linebacker and eight-time Pro Bowl selection Von Miller was under investigation by police in Parker, Colorado, due to undisclosed allegations.

The results of the investigation were turned over to the district attorney's office of the 18th Judicial District in Colorado for review early last week, and it appears the matter is now closed.

Per ESPN and other outlets, the district attorney's office announced via a statement on Friday that Miller will not face criminal charges. Details of the investigation weren't revealed:

Miller missed the entire 2020 season due to a severe ankle injury he suffered during a September practice. An option in his contract guarantees $7 million of his $17.5 million base salary for the final year of his deal if that option is picked up by the Broncos, and general manager George Paton told reporters on Thursday the club was understandably waiting to learn the results of the investigation before making any firm decision.

It remains unknown if the 31-year-old who has been only with the Broncos since the 2011 NFL Draft could face league discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy.
