Broncos fill Empower Field with 1,800 'South Park' character cutouts

Cardboard cutouts are being placed in stands across all four major sports in the United States. While many teams have opted to place photos of their fans in the stands, the Denver Broncos decided to do something very original.

The Broncos decided to put cutouts of the entire town of "South Park" in the upper bowl of Empower Field at Mile High for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There were more than 1,800 cutouts featuring characters from the series that began in 1997 on Comedy Central, according to ESPN. It only made sense for Denver to take this creative approach to cutouts, too, as "South Park" is based in a fictional Colorado town.

The Broncos reached out to Comedy Central about buying cutouts of the characters, ESPN adds, which has raised more than $130,000 for charity alongside fan-purchased cutouts.

It certainly seems like everyone had a fun time at the game, too, despite the loss to Tampa Bay.
