Broncos looking to trade WR DaeSean Hamilton?

Denver Broncos wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton hasn't become much of an impact player since entering the league via the 2018 NFL Draft and, per Spotrac, is in the final year of his rookie contract.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo (h/t Nick Shook) reports that the Broncos could look to trade the 26-year-old receiver either before or during the upcoming draft that opens April 29.

The move makes sense for all involved. Courtland Sutton is on track to return from the torn ACL he suffered in September, and Jerry Jeudy emerged as a potential future No. 1 option at the position in Sutton's absence. Hamilton, meanwhile, recorded only 23 catches for 293 yards and two touchdowns across 16 games and two starts last season and was leapfrogged in targets by other options.

Since 2018, Hamilton has played in 46 of a possible 48 regular-season contests and tallied 81 receptions for 833 yards and five scores. There's currently no indication Denver would show any interest in extending him past 2021 if he's even on the roster through this summer's preseason activities.

"I believe that they would move him for the right place," Garafolo said, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "This is a name that I’ll be watching as we get closer to the draft."

The Broncos may have to accept pennies on the dollar in a trade, but that's better than losing Hamilton for nothing next March.
